Bari-Dubrovnik

Current status (checked 3 Oct 2026)

Nothing sails on this route right now. Jadrolinija's notice to passengers cancels all voyages on its international lines 53 Split-Ancona, 54 Dubrovnik-Bari and 56 Split-Bari until 21 October 2026, because of a technical problem on the ship Dalmacija. Passengers with tickets are compensated under EU Regulation 1177/2010.

We could not find a 2026 timetable for Bari. Jadrolinija's English page of international lines now lists only line 53, and Bari is not among the departure ports in the ticket search on its home page. So we cannot give you sailing days, times or a crossing time for Bari from the operator's own pages, and we will not guess them. Ask Jadrolinija, or look at its booking page for a date after 21 October.

The crossing: operator and vessel

Jadrolinija is the only operator we found that connects Bari with Croatia in 2026. Its website describes the Italian links as ferry lines Dubrovnik-Bari, Split-Bari and Split-Ancona, run by the ferry Dalmacija. The ship's page on the Jadrolinija site gives 134.4 metres, 17 knots, room for 1,800 passengers and 350 cars, two restaurants, three bars, a grill bar, a playroom for children and open decks.

With room for 350 cars it is a car ferry. The crossing time belongs to the timetable, which the operator has not published on the pages we could read.

Season and sailing days for 2026

The only dates we can state are the cancellation, up to 21 October 2026. Jadrolinija's published 2026 timetable for line 53 (Split-Ancona) starts on 22 October; that suggests the Dalmacija returns then, but the notice does not say whether lines 54 and 56 resume the same day, or whether they sail again at all this autumn. Treat the Bari lines as unconfirmed until the operator lists them. Our Ancona-Split guide has the line 53 days.

The terminals

Dubrovnik's ferry port is Gruž, in Gruž Bay about 3 km from the old town, with the main bus station close by. Another operator, Adriatic Lines, gives the port's address as Obala Ivana Pavla II 1, and says the airport is 22 km from the port, with airport buses to the bus station taking 30 to 40 minutes. For the Bari side, and for check-in times, we found nothing on Jadrolinija's own pages: check your ticket and ask the operator. Jadrolinija's information number is 072 30 33 37 from Croatia.

Onboard and cabins

The Dalmacija has two restaurants, three bars and a grill bar, and a playroom for small children. We could not confirm the cabin types or prices for this line from the operator's pages. If the sailing you are considering is overnight, ask which cabins are sold before you pay for the ticket.

Arriving in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is at the southern end of the Croatian coast, and the ferries from Italy are the way to arrive there without a long drive. Our pages cover Dubrovnik and the islands around it, Mljet and Korčula.

Onward from Dubrovnik

croatianferries.com has the Dubrovnik port page with the local crossings, including the line to Suđurađ on Šipan, which also calls at Koločep and Lopud, and the coastal line to Split, Split-Dubrovnik.

Documents

Italy and Croatia are both in the Schengen area, so there is no passport control between them, but carriers check identity at boarding. Carry a passport or a national ID card, and for a car the registration document. Jadrolinija has not published a document rule for this line on the pages we read, so confirm it with the operator.

Booking and prices

Book on Jadrolinija's booking page, and read the notice on the interrupted international lines first. Jadrolinija does not publish a Bari fare on the pages we could read, so we give none. Third-party booking sites show prices and schedules for this line, but they are not the operator, and we do not quote them.
