Krk
What it is
Krk is the largest Adriatic island, one of two destinations in this batch reached by a road bridge rather than a boat (Pag is the other) — the Krk Bridge links it to the mainland near Rijeka. It ranges from the built-up resort coast near Malinska and Krk town to the barer, windswept south around Baška.

When to go

How to get there
No ferry is needed to reach Krk: drive the Krk Bridge from the mainland. From the island's own port of Valbiska, a car ferry continues on to Merag on Cres (Jadrolinija, 25 min) and another to Lopar on Rab (80 min) — these are onward crossings to other islands, not a way to reach Krk itself.
